Wednesdays with Katie, Clifford and Mary J. Blige

Katie Sponseller seems to know strange facts about me. Today she asked me about my cargo van driving days. What? How does she know this stuff? But ahh...the memories of driving all over the South in a huge white cargo van with Clifford on the side. What was I doing! It was fun and miserable all at once. Tons of books, literally. I would have to load and unload them and then present them at teacher conferences, NAEYC, NCTE, NCTM etc.

My big claim to fame was that I actually held up Mary J. Blige at a hotel in Columbia ,South Carolina once. Yep, the big ole Clifford Mobile was parked by her tour bus and the hotel staff had to ask me the leave the lobby so that she and her entourage could come in.
